CUSTOM ORDERS

At Mornington Sea Glass we would love to create something unique, either for you, or for you to give someone special! Whether it is your sea glass or ours, it is our belief that if nature has taken a significant amount of time to shape the glass, then it is our role to set it exactly the way it washed ashore.

SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION

At Mornington Sea Glass, your custom jewellery is handcrafted to be as beautiful, easy to care for and sustainably made as possible to enjoy. When setting our sea glass or yours, we choose to use where possible, Argentium®Silver, which is high quality, hard wearing and more tarnish resistant. We also use sterling silver chains to hang pendants. Our custom jewellery pieces come with either an earthboard gift box which is 100% Australian made recycled board or reusable cloth bag. If choosing one of our sea glass gems, a double-sided colour story card is provided, which identifies where the sea glass was originally found. All orders over $100 include a little sea glass bottle to match the sea glass colour scheme of your jewellery.

One other important aspect of Argentium®Silver production to note is all our silver is sourced from recycled material. For those with allergy concerns, Argentium alloys do not contain nickel.

At Mornington Sea Glass we will always communicate with you if your custom jewellery will be made with Argentium®Silver or Sterling silver.

We also offer complimentary cleaning of your jewellery, you just need to drop it to us or provide return postage!

THE PROCESS

  • Idea

    Seen something on our website or socials, but not quite the colour or size you are looking for? Chances are we may have a different sea glass colour in our studio we could make in the same design or set your own sea glass find.

  • Your own sea glass

    If you have your own special sea glass find to set, please send us a photo with its size. Please note, one side of the sea glass needs to be fairly flat to set in silver. Let me know which of our designs you are interested in having made and from there I can give you an idea of cost, time to make and process.

  • Our sea glass

    If you would like to choose a piece of sea glass from our collection, let me know which of our designs you are interested in and the colour and size. From there I can choose a selection of sea glass gems that I think would work best and send you a photo. I will give you an idea of cost, time to make and process.

  • Ring sizing & chain length

    Please note, the ring size you provide needs to be accurate. If the ring is slightly tight we can enlarge it, however if the ring is too large, and a remake is required an additional charge will be required. Given ring sizes can be tricky, if you are local, we can organise a quick catch up to size your finger or asking your local jeweller near you is also an option.
    Our chains come in standard 40 or 45cm lengths. If you would like a longer size we can order a longer length at an additional cost. We will give you a quote prior to ordering.

  • Customer satisfaction

    We have a small, handmade set up in our Mt Martha Studio. At this stage we are only making custom orders similar to our current designs in different sea glass colours/sizes or with our customer's own finds. No deposit is required, just payment when you have seen a photo of the finished piece and are happy. If you live locally, you are more than welcome to organise a time to pick it up from Artisan's Alley Mornington, 17 Main St Mornington. Local delivery can also be arranged. All other orders will be shipped via Australia Post. See our shipping page

  • Returns policy

    You are entitled to choose a refund, repair, exchange or credit note if the item you have bought from us:
    - has faulty craftsmanship
    - is significantly different to those shown or described to you.
    While we are not obliged to give a refund if you simply change your mind, it is our belief that we are not happy unless you are, so we will provide you with an exchange item, credit if your original purchase item is returned to us within 10 business days. Items must be returned unworn, undamaged with the original packaging and copy of sales receipt. See our returns page.
