Each sea glass find had a story before being given a second chance by nature. This adds another layer of time to its journey. Once a handblown bottle or heirloom tableware piece, then tossed in the tides and reimagined.
In essence, we hope our customers appreciate the wait for the years it took for nature to shape their glass and the unique story their jewellery carries. Their glass was once a bottle or glassware from a bygone era- once with a purpose and often cherished by someone or a family, with their own sentiment and memories attached, before being broken and discarded into our waterways. Nature then added another layer of time to its journey with the tides, salt and sand. It was then found along the water’s edge after countless hours spent scouring the shoreline- years and years of looking before spending hours on the workbench in our studio where we deliberately stay true to nature’s design.
Why sea glass jewellery? You can’t help but be drawn to something that has been recycled and shaped by the power of nature. Since the earliest of times, our ancestors have looked to the skies, the bush and waters and felt a connection to the vast landscapes around them. Jewellery designs shaped by and inspired by nature have always held a special place in our hearts because they are an adornment that reflects the connection to the planet.
Sea glass is no different, it tells a story, evokes a memory, symbolises a personal journey, reminders of adventures and can unlock a myriad of emotions and connections, including peace, wonder and nostalgia. Looking out to the bay, sea and oceans- wherever you are in the world- when you are wearing a piece of sea glass, it keeps you in touch with a world beyond the hectic pace, of simplicity and natural beauty as well quiet and serene moments.
Sea glass jewellery allows you to carry a piece of that beauty from our waterways with you wherever you go. Little treasures to remind us of our connection to the natural world. Exactly the pull I had over 20 years ago when a frosted gem washed up near my feet. Our sustainably handcrafted jewellery features sea glass from local shores on the Mornington Peninsula and beyond. Our nature inspire pieces are a timeless keepsake for anyone with a coastal soul, full of meaning to keep the bay close to your heart.
